The Twin Towers Tour

Me and company were having a small trip to the glorious Petronas Twin Towers. The Petronas Twin Towers (also known as the Petronas Towers or Twin Towers), in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia were the world's tallest buildings, before being surpassed by the Taipei 101. However, the towers are still the tallest twin buildings and office building in the world. We are going for the tour to the Skybridge which the bridge that located in between the two towers. We Malaysian so we must visit Malaysia.

The company including me, Mr Umar-Z, Mr Azwan, Mr Hafizi, Mr Asyraf, Ms Yusra, Ms Syakila, Ms Hana, and Ms Izyan. The boys were the first to arrived. While waiting for the girls to arrive, we walked around the Suria KLCC Shopping Centre.

The time was around 1pm. We were worried if the girls couldn't make it in time as the tour were scheduled at 2pm. We call up the girls, Mr Azwan were calling Ms Syakila and I was calling Ms Hana. They said their were on their way. So we kept on waiting for them.

Still waiting for the girls

After a short while, we got a phone call from them saying that they has arrived and was waiting for us at the KLCC Fitness Center. We go inside, and looked for the place they mentioned earlier. We couldn't find the place so we kept on calling them (to kept them annoyed) asking for their location. Then we saw Ms Yusra near the counter for the Skybridge tour. She was there alone. We wondered where the rest of the girls. Then Ms Hana called me and asked for our location. I was right under her nose but she kept asking me the location (eye sight problem). Ms Izyan also already arrived at the location. The company's now complete. Ms Yusra distribute the tickets to us.

Before going up to the Skybridge, they gave us a visitor pass, and show us a video about Petronas. There were many tourist from different country joined the tour. Noted some China Chinese, India Indians, American, British. I felt very proud to show them our glorious pride and amazed them. This showed them that this country is a developed country same as theirs. Then we had to went through a security check up. They going to scan our belongings and our body. This kinda like the security check in the airport.

The bridge is 170m above the ground and 58 m long, weighing 750 tons. The same floor is also known as the podium, since visitors desiring to go to higher levels have to change elevators here. The skybridge is open to all visitors, but free passes (limited to 1700 people per day) must be obtained on a first-come, first-served basis. The Skyway is closed on Mondays. Visitors are only allowed on the 41st floor as the 42nd floor can only be used by the tenants of the building. The skybridge also acts as a safety device, so that in the event of a fire or other emergency in one tower, tenants can evacuate by crossing the skybridge to the other tower. Then, we were directed to the lift that going to take us up. The lift they were using is a super fast lift. It took only 41 second to reach the 41st floor. All the foreign tourists were amazed... including us.

The view from the Skybridge was fascinating. All of Kuala Lumpur area can be seen. We were given only 10 minutes to enjoy the scenery and take pictures.

10 minutes had passed, the tour guide called us to returned to the lift. It was a fascinating experience to stand between the once tallest tower in the world and the pride of our nation. Before we go down, Mr Umar-Z still have the time to flirt with the security officer... What had become of him...

Mr Umar-Z and the security officer...

Once we reach the lower level, we thanked the tour guide for the experience and he directed us to the Twin Tower Gallery. In the gallery, there were many information regarding the Twin Towers building. A model on hows the Skybridge react to pressure, a video about the Twin Towers, a simulator on how each tower in the world sway, a height count machine which compare your height with the tall towers in the world, and the most interesting exibition is the Tesla Coil simulator. It simulate a lighting effect to the Twin Towers.

Then, we went to the food court to have our lunch. After that we went to the TGV to watch a movie. The girls already on the queue line, but the movie to watch haven't been decided yet. So there's a little quarreling on which movie to choose. There were not many interesting film to watch. Somebody suggested on Max Payne, Disaster Movie, A Flight of Living Dead, and Fury. In the end, we choose Disaster Movie and it was a disaster. Later i will review on the film. The movie ended round 7 pm. We called it for the day, and return home.

Open House and Cake Incident

The Open House

Today, 18 October 2008, i was invited by my classmate, Ms Izyan Shaira, to attend her open house for eid fitri. She pick me and Mr Umar-Z around 1 pm in front of Maju Junction shopping center. Before that, she went to pick up the girls (Ms Hana, Ms Sharina, Ms Syakila, Ms Yusra) at their hostel. It was a 30 min drive from there to her house. We stoped by a bakery to buy a birthday cake for our fellow friend who was celebrating his birthday today (18 Oct 2008), Mr Asyraf aka Ben.

As we reach there, there were already a lot of people. Not only the malays are there, but there also the chinese. This is what we call a harmony community which every Malaysian should practice. After shaking hands and greet the host, me and Mr Umar-Z sit on the sofa outside and eating the raya cookies while the girls has gone inside the house. They bring along the cake and put it in the kitchen.

Mr Umar-Z was ready to eat but i insisting to wait for the others to come. There are still a few of our friends are on their way. Its Mr Azwan, Mr Hafizi, Mr Alfian, Mr Asyraf and Mr Arab. They ride there. They arrive there around 2.30 pm. Once they arrive, we stuff our stomach. There are many kind of delicacies served, nasi minyak, ayam masak merah, daging masak kicap, rendang, lontong, cake, fried mee. They were all deliciously cook. While eating, we were chit chatting. I ate the nasi minyak with ayam masak and daging masak merah and also the lontong.

After eating, we were all full and resting our bones on the sofa. I was discussing with Ms Hana on how are we going to go to the ktm comuter station because we have other event to attend to while the others are going to attend another open house hosted by our friend, Mr Aiman.

The Cake

While discussing with Ms Hana, the other girls called me to the kitchen to bring the cake infront. We went to the kitchen, put the candle on the cake and light up the candle. We went infront and sang the happy birthday song. Once the song was sang, Mr Asyraf knows what to expect. We took him by surprise. He started to feel embarrassed and touched at the same time.

181020081544.jpg

Mr Asyraf then blows the candle off and cut the first slice of the cake. Mr Umar-Z cannot resist the cake. He took the first slice and ate them without mercy. Then Ms Syakila volunteered to cut the cake to slices. This is when disaster strike. Lets take a look at the cake:

This is the cake before:

This is the cake after:

Wonder what happened? Ms Syakila accidentally pushed the cake over the edge of the table, and the cake fell down top to bottom. We all seen that coming but its unavoidable. We close our eyes and believe that the cake are still edible. Then we take a slice each. Nevertheless, the cake tasted good.

Then we went inside the house and watch tv. After awhile, Mr Aiman arrived. He stuff his face, chit chatting a little, then we left Ms Izyan house. Mr Aiman dropped me and Ms Hana at the ktm commuter station while the others are heading to Mr Aiman house to continue stuffing their faces.

Sony issues planet-wide LittleBigPlanet recall

Quotations from the Qu'ran in soundtrack prompt sudden delay of Sony's platformer in all territories, says SCEE; recall comes too late to keep some US copies from going out to customers.

Sony's LittleBigPlanet is one of the most high-profile releases of this Christmas season. Developer Media Molecule has seen its game go from indie darling to AAA system-seller in the past year, thanks to the many appearances that the game has made at trade shows and events.

However, fans of the game are going to have to wait slightly longer to get the game. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced it is recalling the game from retailers, it learned that the soundtrack featured some lines from the Qu'ran backed with music. A SCEE representative also confirmed to GameSpot that this recall would be global, and could not confirm when the game would now actually hit shelves with the offending music removed.

The confirmation follows rumours that that Singing Safari level of the game features a song with two expressions found in Islam's central holy text, the Qur'an. Cached pages on the official PlayStation forum claim that the two phrases are (literally translated) "every soul shall have the taste of death" and "all that is on earth will perish."

While Sony's release does not confirm that the above lines are in the game, they do claim that "one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur'an."

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's release continues, "we have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused." It ends by saying that the company will confirm the new launch date shortly.
